Only the same as any other thin fabric. if it is held away from your skin then yes, but if it is lying directly on your skin and the mosquito can bite you through it, then no.

Bed bugs?

Does this bag protect against bites from bed bugs?

No, If a building or bed has bed bugs, the bugs are attracted to your body heat, and or carbon dioxide exhaled in your breath. The top is not sealed 100% as such the bugs can climb down your body to your legs, get comfy and have a snack, and a free lift to your home. The only suitable way to prevent bites from bed bugs is to sleep in a haz-mat suit, Not very practical. Another way to prevent bites and to prevent taking them home in your luggage, is to not stay at places where they could be present (hotels, hostels, cabins, etc).

Question

Can two of these liners be attached together in order to fit inside two attached MEC Drake bags?

No, these liners are sewn across the bottom, and 3/4 of the length up. The last 1/4 of the way up the side is where the ties are. You could however climb into one, and then climb into 2 sleeping bags zipped together.

Not really, as these liners do not open all the way. The spot where the top sheet is folded back in the picture? that's as far as it opens, the rest of that side is sewn. There is also no left/right opening option, so the longer underside would flop over someones face if you tried to flip it over to attach it to a second one.

Question

How to wash this silk liner? Handwash only?

Silk is a very delicate fabric and your silk sleeping bag liners can be easily damaged by washing with harsh detergents or harsh wash cycles. Please be gentle. You can machine wash it, but please do them separately so they don't snag on other clothes. Use a mild detergent and NO bleach, on the most delicate setting. You may hand wash with mild soap - dishwashing liquid, shampoo or a bar of soap is fine. Lay flat or hang to dry - dries fast. Do not tumble dry.

Question

Does a silk liner provide extra warmth?

I camp with a +4 degree summer sleeping bag, and want to know if using the silk liner is useful for adding a few degrees of comfort for those chilly mountain nights. So, my question is, is this liner good for providing extra warmth, or is it moreso useful for cleanliness, friction and keeping bugs out?
thanks!

The silk liner is designed more for cleanliness and keeping bugs out than adding extra warmth.

If you are looking for a liner that will provide an additional layer for warmth I would look at the MEC Fleece Sleeping Bag Liner in either the barrel or mummy shape depending on your sleeping bag.

Question

How compatible is this liner with a mummy-style sleeping bag?

I have a barrel-style sleeping bag and a mummy bag for colder camping trips. Which style of liner should I get? What are the pros and cons of using a rectangular liner in a mummy bag and of using a mummy liner in a barrel bag?

Technically, you can use any shape of liner in any shape of sleeping bag.

The advantage of a rectangular liner is that you'll have more space to move around in when you use it with the barrel bag. You can also use the liner on its own in hot conditions or in some hostels. The disadvantage is that you'll have a lot of extra material twisted around your feet when you use it with the mummy bag. If you feel at all claustrophobic in a mummy bag to begin with, you may feel more so when you can't easily move your feet around.

The advantage of a mummy liner is that it will keep you warmer because there's less of it to warm up. It will fit nicely in both your barrel and mummy bags. The disadvantage is that you'll have less room to move around than in the rectangular liner.
