Questions & Answers for Injinji Injinji Tetratsok Mini Crew Socks (Unisex)

Question

Do the toe pockets fit right or are they too long?

I tried on a small pair of these socks and found that all the toe pockets were way too long for my toes (foot size W 6.5). Has anyone else had this experience and worn them anyway? Thoughts on getting a pair that fits?

Try the Smartwool brand toe socks in the same size; I find them slightly shorter, especially for the baby-toe.

They are pretty stretchy. I suppose my toes are normal in proportion to my feet, and the socks stretch comfortably over them. Maybe you need to go smaller, such that the whole sock is stretched?

Maybe they just ain't gonna work for you.

they seem to be too long for most people.. including me, i just pull them as far back as i can.

personally it's never been an issue with me, but maybe some people have much shorter toes and i could see it maybe becoming an issue.

My feet are W 9-9.5. I bought size M and found the toe pockets to be a perfect fit, not too long at all, but I do not have short toes.

These are a tricky fit and will not fit everybody. According to the sizing chart I should have a large but went with the medium instead and made sure to adjust each toe individually. Take a little longer to get on but well worth it.

If you can try on one size smaller in store and see if that helps, as they are worth the effort once you find the right fit.

The sock toes are longer than my toes, but they pull back nicely and fit well. To accomodate different peoples feet they have to make the toes a little longer, but I have found that the longer toes are not a hinderance and do not bunch up or feal unfomfortable.

maybe a little too much work for some, but I find if you pull the material back for each toe they are good

I also found the toes to be too long. I wore them several times and they did aggravate my toes so I no longer use them.

Everyone has different proportion and unfortunately not everything can fit everyone the same way. If you are comfortable having material at the end, go for it. I love mind and wear them in my flip flop in the winter.

Question

Thin enough to be worn as liners ?

Are they thin enough to be worn under wool socks in a hiking boot?

No, probably not.
When you add the between-toe bulk of these socks, plus a wool sock, I expect that the whole combo will be uncomfortably wide for your boot - your toes will feel too squished.

No. Buy the inexpensive poly pro and then put the wool overtop. I'd only recommend layering with these socks if you have loose fitting shoes/boots.

I think they are a little heavy for liners. If they weren't so low cut I would wear them as they are in a hiking boot. YMMV

They're not as thin as most liner socks-for example, the ones I have linked to below. But, that said, I'm sure they could be used as an under-sock. I have used socks of a similar thickness in a 2-sock combination before, though usually in colder weather, and found it to be effective as long as my outer sock wasn't too thick.

Alot of that will depend on the thickness of socks you're used to and what works best for your feet. Just know that they are thicker than what would normally be classified as a "liner sock".

How does the sizing work for these socks? I wear a woman's 8.5, how does this translate to a S, M, L??

I got both S and M.
S fits better but you could buy M and wash it with high temperature to make it shrink :)

I wear size 41 or women's 9-9.5 and bought size M and have a perfect fit for inside my new Size 41 Vibram 5-Fingers Komodos

Depending on what you want to use them for will depend on the sizing. I want them for my VFF KSOs and found that the medium worked well for me even though I am a 44 in my vibrams. I would use the sizing chart as a guideline and buy one pair try them for a bit and then see if you want more of the same size or to go up or down.

With the toes it is more finicky to fit as well as everyone's toes are different, and just because it is a perfect fit for one doesn't mean it will be a perfect it for another even if you have the same size shoes.
