Customer Questions & Answers for
Bare Bare Sunguard Short-Sleeved Shirt (Men's)

A lightweight top to protect against sun, salt, wind, and rash − great for paddling or tropical travel. While cotton is nice for beach lounging, it's quick to wet and slow to dry when you're active in the water. This stretchy fabric moves with you and dries quickly.

Is it good for my teenage kid to wear for swimming on the beach?

Very hard to make my kids put suncreen on at the beach, but they may wear this while swimming to protect from the sun.

Yes, this would be a great option. 50+ UPF rating and it is stylish! The long sleeved shirt provides enough more sun protection.

These shirts are made of a nylon/spandex mix similar to some thicker swimsuit materials and tend to "pill" or wear where they get the most friction, under the arms or areas that rub against a board surface. The Bare versions of rashguards MEC carries tend to be slightly thicker and possibly more durable than some lighter weight versions, so better as a surfing rashguard but they take longer to dry than a lighter version.

No. The shirt is made primarily of nylon which does not wick moisture away from the body.
